The TriTogether Board

I’m so excited to introduce the four incredible individuals who have joined me in forming TriTogether’s Board of Directors as we continue to grow.

Mary Liz, an adoptive parent to six children and young adults, brings her personal insight to her work supporting families and youth. She currently serves as an Outreach and Support Coordinator for families of color at the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), where she works to connect families with resources, build community, and advocate within the adoption and foster care space. She is also the founder of The Gifted Crate, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth—particularly those with lived experience in foster care. Mary brings such a deep sense of purpose to this work, and her commitment to equity, family support, and creating opportunities for young people will be invaluable as she helps guide TriTogether’s work toward these same goals.

Sharon joined our Board because she believes, at her core, that every child in foster or kinship care deserves the support they need to succeed in school. Having grown up in foster care herself, she understands just how challenging it can be to keep up academically during times of instability—and she knows firsthand that she would have greatly benefited from having a tutor. Today, as the CEO of Foster Care Essentials, she helps ensure that children in foster care have the resources and encouragement they need to thrive. We are so lucky to learn from her perspective and leadership.

Theo (he/him) wears many hats at TriTogether—as both a Board member and our Head of Programming. Over the past three years, he has grown from a dedicated tutor into a leader who supports our volunteers and helps shape our programming. His passion for educational equity is deeply personal, rooted in his own experience as a Pell Grant–supported student and the mentors who helped him along the way. Theo graduated from Simmons University in 2025 with a degree in Biochemistry and is now pursuing a PhD in infectious disease biology at Northwestern University.

Charlotte found TriTogether while looking for a meaningful way to give back to her community after stepping away from her full-time role. With a background in nonprofit development and donor communications, she joined as Head of Fundraising and quickly became an integral part of our team. This experience has given her a deep appreciation for both the foster care system and the resilience of the students and families we serve. She was drawn to the Board as a way to deepen that commitment even further. She often shares that her favorite moments are hearing directly from parents about the progress their children have made—those stories are what keep all of us going.

And lastly, many of you know me as the Founder and Executive Director of TriTogether. For a long time, this work was a small, deeply personal project that I managed mostly on my own. Over the past year, that began to change. During the 2025–2026 school year, I set a goal to grow TriTogether with the support of a dedicated team—and thanks to our incredible Executive Team, we’ve done just that. Watching this community come together has been so meaningful. By the end of 2025, it became clear that it was time to take the next step and form an advisory board.

I feel so grateful to be building this alongside the people above. Their guidance, care, and belief in this work mean everything—and I truly can’t wait for what’s ahead.
