Coming together
Last week, we gathered with 25 community members to share more about TriTogether at Red Heat Tavern in Milford, MA. Many attendees were invited by friends and had never heard about our work before, making it the perfect opportunity to introduce who we are and what we stand for. (You can watch my short speech here.)
There is something incredibly meaningful about being in a room with people who believe in your mission — people who are willing to buy a ticket, drive out on a cold Massachusetts winter evening, and show up in support. Many even chose to make additional contributions beyond their ticket purchase.
By the end of the night, we had raised $780 — a significant amount for a small organization like ours.
What does $780 make possible?
It covers nearly a full year of shipping costs for our care packages, which is one of the only expenses associated with them thanks to generous purchases from our Amazon registry.
It funds 26 background checks for tutors, ensuring the safety and well-being of every student we serve.
That has a tangible, immediate impact on our organization.
There is so much more I’m excited to share, including some statistics we’re especially proud of. But today, I want to dedicate this post to the community who showed up for us.
To those who attended, to those who couldn’t make it but still gave, and to everyone who stands behind our mission in ways big and small: thank you. Every student we welcome, every tutor we interview, every LearnTogether we host, every event we organize — it all happens because of you.
And we are so grateful.
